Also, here is a way you can help, if you can not afford to give a donation. Play Halo 3 or Halo 3: ODST online next Wednesday or Thursday while wearing a special emblem of support and Bungie will make a donation for you. For every 1,000 participants, $100 goes to the American Red Cross on behalf of Bungie and its community, up to a maximum donation of $77,000.

Heres how to participate according to Bungie.

1. Round up all of your friends and hop online with Halo 3 or ODST any time next from 00:01AM PST Wednesday, 1/20, through 23:59PM PST Thursday 1/21.

2. Edit your appearance settings so your character is wearing the RED HEART emblem.
a. Press START
b. Select “SETTINGS” / “APPEARANCE”
c. Select “EMBLEM”
d. Select “Hearts” ICON, “Circle” BACKGROUND
e. Back out to the APPEARANCES menu and select “COLORS”
f. Set “EMBLEM PRIMARY” to RED (or MAROON / BRICK / ROSE depending on which game you’re playing!)
g. Set “EMBLEM SECONDARY” to WHITE
3. Once your emblem is set, play! This can be a custom game or a matchmaking game, just make sure it’s played online, on Xbox LIVE, or we can’t track it.

If you keep playing more games through midnight on Thursday, KEEP THE HEART EMBLEM ENABLED or you may not get counted.

In an interview with Game Informer, President and CEO Bobby Kotick confirmed the company is set to release a follow up title to its latest turn-table music game DJ Hero.

Kotick was asked about the company’s long-term commitment plans to creating new franchises and said a new DJ hero title will be released in 2010.

“I think DJ Hero is a really innovative product. I can’t wait for you to see next year’s,” he said. “That’s the thing; we’re sticking with it. We’ll stick with it and get it right.”

“But it’s going to be less games, better games. That’s our strategy,” Kotick added.

Since the title’s launch in October, the original DJ Hero has sold over 800,000 units in the U.S., according to NPD. Guitar Hero co-founder Kai Huang said late last year the company expected the title to have slower initial sales while fans become acquainted to its unique playstyle.

Nintendo of Europe has provided a firm release date for the DSi XL, the up-sized, spectator-friendly version of the DSi. European gamers will be able to take the system home in a big bag on March 5.

The European edition of the system will launch in Wine Red and Dark Brown, skipping the Natural White color from the Japanese release, and comes preloaded with DSiWare, including A Little Bit of… Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: Arts Edition, Dictionary 6 in 1 with Camera Function and the Nintendo DSi Browser. We have no idea why Flipnote Studio, which is included with DSi LL systems in Japan, is absent. It’s free, so users will have to download that themselves.
