Columbia Pictures, today announced an all-new Men In Black™ video
game, launching as a standalone title to coincide with the global theatrical release of
Men In Black III in Spring 2012. “True to the spirit of the franchise, the original title will
feature action-packed, yet light-hearted gameplay mixed with edge-of-your-seat
shooting excitement from the universe’s most elite peacekeeping force.”

In history, most games that came alongside a movie (and vice versa) has been terrible. Everything from Mario Brothers and Street Fighter, to Aliens and Terminator, the transtion has not been a smooth one. Hopefully, with the release of Men In Black, they can break this curse.

Sony’s Xperia Play is coming to AT&T with a price drop of $49.99 on September 18. The smartphone will come bundled with the Sony Ericsson Multimedia Dock DK300 and MC100 music cable. The Xperia PLAY 4G runs on Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) platform and features a 4” 480 x 854 screen and stereo speakers. Last weekend we ran across the trailer for a game called Slavery the Game. Since then we have been working on a article and emailing Microsoft and Sony to try to get a understanding for why this game was being released and how was their logos placed on the game website. We know they both companies do not release Adult Only games (see the whole GTA hot coffee mod), but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t come out on PC or that, the now fake team, Javelin Reds Games, couldn’t try to maybe tone down the game for a Mature Rating. If you haven’t seen the game and wondering why we were raising questions about the game please see the trailer below.

Since then, only Microsoft has got back to us with this statement:

“Microsoft has no knowledge of this title and it is evident this is a hoax. Additionally, Xbox is a family friendly games and entertainment console and does not allow Adults Only (AO) content to be certified for use on its platform, and would not condone this type of game for Xbox 360.”

With that being said, we are very happy with this being a hoax.

Early this morning as I look for news to write, I was directed to this video by Joystiq, explaining that the trailer for Slavery the Game, was a viral ad for Dutch TV history series about “the European and Dutch involvement in trans-Atlantic slavery.” The series is set to premier later this month and has a children version to premier at the same time.

The researcher speaking in the video says that the Americans “reacted much heavier” to the trailer, “because the topic of slavery has had much more attention.” We know that slavery doesn’t just involve African-Americans but, when we hear they term slavery, that word and racism almost goes hand in hand. This was really sloppy viral marketing and is no excuse for them to make this so real and not put any disclaimer with the website or the trailer. You may see the explanation video below:

If you always wondered what Vice City universe, would look like in GTA IV, well all you have to do is wait untill this christmas. The RAGE team (not to be confused with the creators of Rage, that’s ID Software) has working on this mod of the GTA classic and is bringing the game to the current generation. Stating that their remake has original cars, materials, and a new time cycle, this look really impressive. We just hope that like other remakes, they won’t have to pull it down. Sorry Streets of Rage Remake and Sonic HD.

Good news, Deus Ex came out this week. Bad news, Gamestop screwed up and had a gang of angry customers come at them full steam. Apparently, Gamestop is coming out with its own streaming game service and since all the PC versions of Deus Ex had a code for the OnLive version of the game, Gamestop had their employees pull the copies and recall them back to Square Enix. Gamestop said that it was unaware of the third party coupon and “Square Enix invites gamers who want to purchase the PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution without additional coupons to buy the game at any one of over 4000 GameStop stores in North America or purchase a digital download copy online from www.gamestop.com. “

So, what about those people who reserved the PC version of the game, here is what Gamestop has to offer:

Now don’t get us wrong, a free $50 and a buy 2 get 1 free option is cool, but Gamestop not saying that they should not had removed the coupon, shows that they aren’t really sorry for anything. If you got your copy of Deus Ex from Gamestop, go and get your games, but this is the kind of nonsense is the reason why we don’t buy anything from Gamestop.

We HEART Capcom. They listened to the fans who wanted MORE characters and Capcom has announced that an upgraded version of Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is coming titled Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. New characters, new levels, and a few tweaks will make this a welcomed addition to the fighting series.

The game will feature twelve new additional characters, all of which have been “accidentally” leaked online as Hawkeye, Firebrand, Ghost Rider, Strider Hiryu, Nova, Phoenix Wright, Doctor Strange, Vergil, Rocket Raccoon, Nemesis, Iron Fist and Frank West. We still are hoping that Cable will make a come back appearance as DLC.

In a series that is already packed with guest stars like Batman, Superman, and Kratos, now the man that will literary kill you in your sleep, Freddy Krueger comes to Mortal Kombat Aug 9th.
