Japanese outlet “Impress Watch” stated that Sony is looking at several designs for the 4 edition of the Playstation, including using a PC muiltcore processor instead of a cell processor. They are also looking at a new, modified version of the Cell processor, and Intel’s Larrabee chipset. Developers have issues working with the current cell processors that are in the Playstation 3. While games like Batman Arkham Asylum and Ghostbusters looks impressive on the Xbox 360, they do not look as good on the PS3. A rumor date of 2012 is the release of the Playstation 4.
